As the last golden days of summer fade, the air shifts with a new kind of magic. The mornings are cooler, the evenings darker, and the trees around us begin to slowly change colour until they glow in fiery shades of orange, red, and gold. Autumn is here! And with it comes a season full of wonder, play, and imagination at INTO the OUT.

Halloween’s Growing Roots in Denmark
Halloween may have its origins far away, linked to old Celtic harvest festivals and later American traditions, but in recent years it has taken root here in Denmark too. Children love the chance to dress up, light candles in pumpkins, and experience a little safe spookiness together.
At INTO the OUT, we see Halloween as more than costumes and candy. It is an opportunity to explore that fine balance: giving children those exciting “butterflies in the stomach” moments, while making sure they always feel secure and never truly afraid. This balance helps children build resilience, creativity, and confidence in a playful, supportive way.
Halloween Camps in Week 42
During the autumn holiday (week 42), we invite children to join our Halloween Camps. Each day will be packed with outdoor play, crafts, and nature explorations with a seasonal twist. Think bonfire snacks, potion-making, and mysterious adventures in the forest. It will be spooky enough to be exciting, but always safe and full of laughter.
As our camps are extremely popular, I have decided this year to split the camp into 2. Giving more children the opportunity for a slice of INTO the OUT magic! Both camps will have the same activities- the only difference being a longer nature walk on the 3 day camp. I would like to encourage families to only sign up for 1 of the 2 camps.
Age will be 6 years and up.

Our First Halloween Event for Younger Children
We are also opening our gates for the very first time to the youngest witches, wizards, and forest explorers (ages 2–5) together with their grown-ups.

Tips for Outdoor Play at the End of Summer
You don’t need to wait for our events to dive into autumn magic. Here are a few simple ideas to try with your family right now:
Leaf treasure hunt: Collect leaves of as many colours and shapes as possible, then make a rainbow line on the ground or press them in a notebook. You can also string them onto a long piece of twine using a large needle and hang them up indoors!
Twilight walk: Head outside as the evenings get darker. Listen for owls or bats, notice how the light changes, and bring a lantern or flashlight for extra excitement.
Nature kitchen: Gather acorns, pinecones, sticks, and stones to “cook up” your own forest feast. Add water or mud for potions and soups.
Bonfire storytelling: Light a small fire and share short spooky (but not too scary) stories. Children love adding their own silly twists!
These small adventures help children tune into the changing season while building confidence and imagination outdoors.
